Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at each of the last five race weekends.
The McLaren driver narrowly beat fellow driver and title rival Oscar Piastri for the top spot in the closing stages of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the title advantage from Piastri by just one point after his victory in Mexico City two weeks ago, outpaced the Australian by 0.023 seconds.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before sprint qualifying scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the points battle, trailing with a 36-point deficit Norris, ended up in P17 as his Red Bull team opted for a unique setup.
His teammate Yuki Tsunoda was the sole competitor to crash, if briefly, when he lost control at corner four during the early running.
The Japanese spun out over the exit kerbs before sliding over the gravel trap, and was lucky to get away with just a minor contact of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also lost it, at the very end of the practice, rotating twice through the high-speed Mergulho corner leading to the final bend on to the pit straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in P19, trailing team-mate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren drivers were significantly quicker of the other competitors, with Nico Hulkenberg's car in third, 0.619 seconds slower than Piastri's best.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth quickest, with the Sauber of Bortoleto in front of the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Gasly and Williams' Sainz.
